Develop your ideas in 3D with powerful and accurate, yet simple tools.
Begin with a blank canvas or import photos, CAD files or pre-built models from 3D Warehouse. SketchUp is the most intuitive and easy-to-learn 3D drawing tool available, designed to behave like an extension of your hand.
SketchUp Pro includes LayOut, a powerful 2D illustration app for the creation of professional drawing sets, construction documents and screen presentations, all dynamically linked to SketchUp files.
Publish imagery and animations, export for VR, create documents and BIM reports with IFC references. Evolve your design in other applications by exporting to formats including DXF, DWG, OBJ, 3DS, DAE, and more.
Extension Warehouse contains over 400 plugins that layer additional tools and features on top of SketchUp. Free and paid plugins are available for industry-specific workflows such as rendering analysis and 3d printing.
LayOut is used for generating presentation documents. With LayOut, you're equipped for page design, drafting, vector illustration and slide presentations: everything you need to explain everything.
After you insert a SketchUp model into a LayOut document, you can design the document to highlight your 3D model's best features. If you ever need to change or update your original SketchUp model, you can update the model in LayOut so that all the details are synched automatically.
With LayOut, insert SketchUp model views wherever you want in your document. These "viewports" are living, breathing views of your project. When your model changes, all of your viewports update too.
LayOut brings the "feel" of SketchUp into 2D space in an incomparably beautiful way. Line work, shadows, textures, text, dimensions, title blocks: all exactly the way you want.
LayOut's drawing tools are just like SketchUp's: simple, smart, and fun. And everything you draw is vector smart, so scaling and rotating can be done with the utmost precision.
Use dimensioning tools that snap to the edges of SketchUp models and quickly set the format, scale, and precision of displayed measurements.
If you're a SketchUp Pro user, Style Builder is part of the package. In this handy little program, you can create your own sketchy edge style from lines you’ve drawn yourself, either on paper or digitally in an image-editing program.
3D Warehouse contains millions of models created in SketchUp that you can import straight into your own model.
Need an oven for the kitchen you're designing? A car for your driveway? A rhino for your zoo? Find it all in 3D Warehouse, the world’s biggest library of free 3D models.
You can also find a model from a trusted manufacturer. With manufacturer partners like Herman Miller, Formica, Thermador and many others, we’re working to make 3D Warehouse the best place on the web to find a model of a specific, real-world object. Now when you specify an oven for a kitchen, you can be sure you’re working with accurate geometry, not to mention beautiful models.

SketchUp extensions are add-on tools that solve 3D modelling problems which might otherwise leave you scratching your head. And there are hundreds of them to explore.
These extensions enable you to add special tools and features to SketchUp. You can find extensions for a specific application (such as drawing or 3D printing) and industry-specific tools (such as extensions for architecture, interior design, construction, and more).

It allows users to share and access project information anywhere, with collaboration tools including 3D markup, task assignment and clash checking. Connect supports Autodesk, Tekla, and SketchUp file formats, plus point clouds, PDF, images, IFC, Microsoft Office files and more for collaboration across disparate teams and functions.
The Trimble Connect app for XR (HoloLens and MagicLeap) allows users to experience models in augmented reality in tabletop mode or at 1:1 scale; models can be aligned with real-world reference points for an immersive experience.
View and present models with the familiar orbit, pan, and zoom tools. The viewer also supports scenes, fly-through animations, section planes, layer visibility, X-Ray, and edge and face styles.
AR features enable you to merge 3D models with real-world context; allowing you to reimagine room layouts, evaluate proposals in context or review projects as they would a scale model.
Microsoft HoloLens and Windows Mixed Reality devices; and virtual reality devices: Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Other XR platforms are in development.
With SketchUp XR Viewers, you can immerse themselves in a project at 1:1 scale to experience, understand or resolve complex spatial dynamics. Cycling through scenes within a model facilitates rapid design decisions and can show construction sequencing. Teams may collaborate via live audio; virtual avatars represent a colleague's point of view, allowing them to be more easily guided. Tools such as Tape Measure and Entity Info provide insights when needed. On AR devices, alignment with real-world reference points allows digital models to be placed in-situ.
